Our 17U Coaches

Meet the Coach! Jordan has coached 7 seasons of club, middle school and high school volleyball – both girls and boys. He most recently coached the Westside Waves U16 team in a very successful 2023 season. Cleland has been coaching youth sports since 2010 in volleyball, baseball, softball and hockey. He is a former full scholarship University Athlete and U18 National Team Member – in baseball not volleyball – and believes that all of his different experiences as both player and coach have combined to inform his coaching philosophy.

Jordan believes in an up tempo and deliberate approach to volleyball in practice and games; and that teams perform best and enjoy the sport the most when players get consistent and real time feedback and feel that every member is a contributor to the success of a whole. He encourages his teams to embrace a culture of “joyful intensity” and points to his father who was recently inducted into the Alberta Schools Athletic Association Hall of Fame as a volleyball coaching mentor.

Meet Coach Cory! Playing every sport available growing up, he started coaching at age 15. Most recent coaching roles have been the Assistant Coach for the 2023 Waves 16U team, as well as youth basketball and football. Owning a business, Cory also has the opportunity to coach people everyday to be their best selves.

A former Collegiate and International athlete in basketball, Cory believes in "smart, efficient" play, trying to get the most out of every situation.

Cory is looking forward to learning with and assisting the Waves every step of the way, and can't wait to get started.

Our Fee Structure

Our fees for the 2024 season are still being adjusted.

Here is what our fees include for ALL players:

Hotel Expenses for the Coaches
Volleyball BC Event Fees for 3 Super Series events in Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley (February-Family day Weekend), Interior (March), the Island (April). Dates are Tentative.
Volleyball BC Event Fee for Provincial Championships (Dates & Location TBA)
Volleyball Canada Event Fee for National Championships in May (Edmonton, AB)
2-3 Practices per week

For NEW players (this will be added in addition to the above fees):

2 Jerseys, 2 Warm-up shirts, Hoodie, Sweatpants & Backpack

For RETURNING players:

If you require or would like new Jerseys, Warm-up shirts, Hoodie, Sweatpants & Backpack that will be an added cost to the above fees.

Here is what our fees do not include:

Volleyball BC Individual Player Membership Fee
Non-VBC Events
Food for away tournaments
Hotel and transportation expenses for Players

*NOTE: In the event that we do not get in to a specific tournament, that portion will be deducted from the fee's.

*NOTE: We will be accepting (by e-transfer) either full fee payment on January 5th, 2024 or Installments paid on January 5th, February 5th and March 5th.
